Luke 4:17-20
And there was delivered unto him the book of the Prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written.
The spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
Our Story
Joshua 1: 5-7 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them. Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.
During the early years of the 1970's many types of religions waxed strong, such as: Occultism, Buddhism, Hinduism, etc. These and other types of faiths have covered the entire world. So, the preaching of the gospel of Jesus and the faith of the only begotten son, must also reach the ends of the world.

It was not until the day of Pentecost, following the crucifixion, and ascension of Christ, that the church of God was born between 29 and 33 A.D. It was on that day of Pentecost that the Holy Ghost fell on the Apostles with the speaking in tongues as evidence and the gifts of the spirit.

We are sure that the preaching of the gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth (Romans 1:16), and that this gospel shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come (Matt 24:14)

Many other associations and organizations have been established who preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and who have a vision and a revelation from God. It was in 1979, December 12th, that the Powerhouse of Jesus, Inc., was born with Evangelist J. Thomas being the Pastor and Founder. It was God through this young man (Evang. J. Thomas) that the gospel of Jesus Christ was preached, that brought many to Christ. Since the establishment of this church, Evang. J. Thomas has faced criticism, and persecution, slanderous lies in hopes that he would fail, but through it all the Lord held him up.

At the age of 15, the Lord spoke to the Evangelist saying, " I'll be your God if you will be my servant. So, he decided to dedicate full time to God and to the working of the ministry. Because of this, family, and friends, even those that claimed they knew God came against the Evangelist with hard ridicule. But his mind was made up and by faith he stepped out to do the will of God, being the only child left with his mother, because other relatives had separated and went their own ways to do their own thing, God made him a vow that if he would trust his spirit things would work out fine.

After many years of traveling alone God seen fit to bless the Evangelist with a church, Powerhouse of Jesus Inc., to help support the Gospel of Jesus and the Man of God's travel. Later in1980 God blessed the Evangelist with a staff and musicians, for some have left but there are those who yet remain in this faith and in this word.
​As the man of God continued in the work of the ministry God elevated the man of God to the office of Prophet of God and gave him a vision that would become a place of refuge and safety in the days of trouble for all. Prophet J.Z.E. Thomas preached and prophesied never forsaking the vision or the work.

The year 2018 ushered in a new birth for the Powerhouse of Jesus. With the transitioning of Prophet J.Z.E. Thomas our founder and beloved leader, the members being commissioned forehand, continued the work of the ministry, to bring the vision of a safe place of refuge to fruition. Despite the abandonment of some, it was the will of God that those that remain be the ones to complete His work. They have not turned to the left or to the right but have been strong and very courageous in staying the course.

It is our sincere desire to support and expand the ministry, to carry this gospel as far as possible and to gather together the elect lady, (church, bride of Christ) that we may survive the persecutions soon to attack the real church.
